DAY 03 - HYPERVISOR

r  Virtualization is a framework or methodology of dividing resources (PRDN)

r  Physical Hardware resources (PRDN) virtualize like one Processor, one RAM, one Disk, one Network

r  For virtualize Physical Hardware resources (PRDN) who will be in the middle it’s called Hypervisor

r  Examples of Hypervisors:

v  VMware ESXi - Type 1 (Bare-metal)
v  Microsoft Hyper-V - Type 1 (Bare-metal) & Type 2 (Hosted)
v  VMware Workstation - Type 2 (Hosted)
v  VMware Fusion - Type 2 (Hosted)
v  Xen - Type 1 (Bare-metal)
v  KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) - Type 1 (Bare-metal)
v  Oracle VM VirtualBox - Type 2 (Hosted)

r  Two types of Hypervisors:

v  Type 1 - Bare metal [On top of Hardware – Directly install on Hardware]
v  Type 2 - Hosted [On top of Operating System]
